Greenland and Ragot on podium at the Leogang World Cup

June 16, 2015

Trek World Racing's Laurie Greenland (GBR) took second place this weekend in the junior category of the UCI Mtb World Cup downhill in Leogang, Austria. The young racer was aboard an SDG I-beam saddle.  Emmeline Ragot (FRA) took the bronze in the women's category.  SDG Athletes Troy Brosnan (AUS), Loic Bruni (FRA) and Brook MacDonald (NZL) were 4th, 8th and 9th respectively in the Elite men's category.

Greenland crossed the line missing his chain, seemingly a theme for the weekend, and still managed to secure second place.

The track in Austria has never been a rider favourite, but changes were made for the World Cup and brand new sections were taped in making for an interesting first practice sessions. As the dirt rutted up and the roots came up, lines started to appear with viable options all over the place.  After rain of biblical proportions on Thursday, the sun and came out and baked the track solid in time for racing on Sunday.

The World Cup now moves to Lenzerheide, Switzerland in 2 weeks time to race on a brand new track.
